commentary

Shoutouts is a tool that enables employees to celebrate each other. Whether someone did great on a project or went out of their way to help out, the tool allows for employees to be seen and appreciated for their actions.

Shoutouts (at the time) was text-heavy and had a basic, utilitarian UI. My job was to exaggerate the functions of the tool through animation whilst sticking to the Shoutouts brand identity. The version of Shoutouts in the video is an abstraction. The layouts are similar to the tool’s UI, but designed to work well in motion.

The graphic designer provided the flat intro graphic and the stylised headshots. I bounced ideas off the video lead to create the storyboards and final layouts. I had a week to animate the video.
